Dear Parishioners:
• St. Matthew Church: After
months of negotiations with the
representatives from the Archdiocesan
Building Commission (ABC), the contractor
and engineer, the tower project will begin
the next phase, by the end of the week.
Details will follow.

• Midnight Run: We need people
to help make sandwiches or donate them, as
well as volunteers who would be willing to
accompany Mr. Moore on the monthly trips. If
you are interested please contact the
rectory secretaries.

• Corpus Christi: This weekend
we celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi
which is the Most Holy Body and Blood of
Christ. The procession will begin on the
front steps of the church immediately
following the 9:00 AM Mass. We would like to
thank Chief David Bloomer, and Lt. David
Dosin of the Hastings Police Department in
assisting us with the procession again this
year.
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat
the flesh of the Son of man and drink His
blood, you have
no life in you; he who eats My flesh and
drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will
raise him up

• Parish Picnic: Our annual
picnic will be held on Sunday, June
14th, at MacEachron Park from 1-5 rain or
shine. Please join us for a fun
afternoon that is filled with faith and
friends. There will be an air castle for the
children as well as the dunk tank and relay
races, and of course a 50-50. Please bring a
lawn chair and sun block. Volunteers are
needed to help set-up, cook and clean –up.
There will be no charge for admission or
food, but we will be taking a collection for
the victims of the Italian Earthquake. If
you are able to assist us on this most
enjoyable day, please contact the rectory
secretaries.

• Flag Day: Today, June 14th
is Flag Day; please remember all those who
sacrificed their lives so that we can fly
our flag proudly.

• Italian Victims Earthquake Fund:
A fund has been set up by the Archdiocese to
receive monetary donations for the relief
efforts in the Abruzzo region. Checks can be
made payable to the Italian Earthquake
Victims Fund and sent directly to Monsignor
William Belford, Chancellor, Archdiocese of
New York, 1011 First Avenue, New York, NY
10022

• St. Matthew Altar Society:
Last weekend the members of the Altar
Society conducted their annual Attic and
Bake Sale. We would like to thank them all
for all of their hard work and dedication to
the church. May God bless you all.

• Church Ministries: If any of
our parishioners would like to join one of
the ministries in the church. These
ministries are: Lectors, Extraordinary
Ministers, Ushers, and Altar Servers. All of
the ministries are vital to our Parish. If
you are interested in joining one of these
ministries, please contact me at the
rectory.

• Father’s Day Novena: Novena
Cards are available in the baskets in the
back of the church.

• Baby Bottles: The bottles
are located in the bassinet in the rear of
the church. All monies collected are donated
to Expectant Mother Care. Please return the
bottles by Sunday, June 21st, Father’s Day
